German ingredients firm Symrise has opened a new research center at its headquarters in Holzminden.
The new center will be dedicated to research, for the company's two divisions - Scent & Care and Flavor & Nutrition. It features 2,400m2 of floor space, room for 90 workers, offices, conference rooms for customer presentations, according to the company.
Symrise chief executive officer Heinz-Jürgen Bertram said that with the new research center, the company intends to strengthen its expertise in research and development, which is the basis for a competitive position as well as for accelerated growth.
"A special point of emphasis was put on researching functional ingredients for healthy nutrition and conscious personal care," Bertram added.
Symrise has invested €10m in the new center. The company spends more than €100m on research and development annually.
Symrise, headquartered in Holzminden, Germany, is a global supplier of fragrances, flavorings, cosmetic active ingredients and raw materials as well as functional ingredients. It has presence in over 35 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the United States and Latin America.
